Course Introduction | Welcome to the family of professional Government financial managers who use Orion Microsystems, Inc. GLOWS software. Orion Microsystems, Inc. is a leader in providing high quality client/server financial management systems software in the Windows and Unix environments. GLOWS is a "true" Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) package developed from our commercial AT&T/GLOWS product. Orion successfully re-engineered its COTS GLOWS software to meet JFMIP's Core Financial Requirements. In 1990, GLOWS was "Certified" by JFMIP and listed on the General Services Administration's Financial Management System Software (FMSS) Multiple Awards Schedule. This version of GLOWS, v3.0, has again been carefully re-engineered to operate in Windows 95 and 98 environments. Included with the GLOWS application software is a copy of Interbase's Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) software. Together, GLOWS and Interbase provide a formidable "Single User" financial management system package. In addition, this single user version is upward compatible with GLOWS Window NT Client/Server version. We trust this GLOWS Single User version will meetyour financial management needs that may include supporting: full scale agency financial management system implementations, "cuff" record system processing, and meeting agency financial management training needs.
